Welcome to the Salem Civic Association Web Site!

Welcome to our web site. The Salem Civic Association represents about 880 homes and 120 businesses in the north side of Columbus, Ohio roughly between I-71 and RR Tracks from Morse Road to Dublin-Granville Rd.  We meet monthly at the Salem Baptist Church, 5862 Sinclair Road.

The Salem Civic Association is an organized assembly of the Salem community that works tirelessly to maintain and improve the quality of life enjoyed within its boundaries, and represents the interests of area residents and businesses to the Northland Community Council, Columbus City Council, and other city, state, and regional authorities.

The Association helps to foster a deeper sense of community by organizing and facilitating activities like monthly meetings to discuss neighborhood issues, school sponsored events, recreational sports, social and holiday gatherings, and park beatifications.  It provides members with pertinent local information, and offers them opportunities to discuss issues and ideas with each other and their elected government officials in an open forum.  The Association also helps to protect the lives and properties of its members through an active Blockwatch program.

Membership in the Association is completely voluntary, and is open to all Salem residents and businesses.  Former residents and other interested persons who do not live within the boundaries of the Salem Civic Association may also join as Associate Members so that they can still participate in community events and stay current on neighborhood news by receiving the Association’s bi-monthly newsletter, The Salem Lamplighter.

The goal of the Salem Civic Association is to ensure an ever-growing sense of pride, community, and prosperity in the neighborhood.  To make this goal a reality, The Association elects Officers from its membership and organizes volunteers into committees that provide various services to the community.  Through these committees many members have found ways to share their talents with their friends and neighbors, and benefit their community as a whole at the same time.

The Salem Civic Association is as diverse as the community it serves.  As you explore this website, we encourage you to find something we do that you also might enjoy.  It’s your community, let the SCA help you make the most of it.
