BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION

Here are two easy ways to help Salem Elementary get free merchandise and money. The first method is the Campbell’s Labels for Education™ Program. By saving proofs of purchase from eligible Campbell products, you can help Salem participate in this program, which has awarded over $100 million in free merchandise to schools nationwide. Go to www.labelsforeducation.com for a complete list of eligible products. Send your labels to Salem Elementary, 1040 Garvey Rd, Columbus 43229 or bring them to Brenda Baker at an SCA monthly meeting. You can call the school at 614-365-5351 for more details about this program.

You can also help Salem receive actual cash through the Box Tops program by clipping the Box Tops coupons from hundreds of General Mills products and partnering brands.  Each coupon is worth ten cents for the benefit of school activities sponsored by the PTA.  Go to www.boxtops4education.com for a complete list of eligible products or open this link:

Salem Elementary School bench installed 06-02-11

SCA presidents Geoff Casterline, Doug Moody and Patrick Canty joined Gail Buick, Salem Elementary Principal for a school bench photo op.    In 2008, SCA won a $500 recycling contest “Drop It In The Bin And Win” sponsored by SWACO, City of Columbus and Giant Eagle.  SCA members added additional money to afford a durable recycled eco-friendly material bench  – a style selected by Doug Moody, and installed by professional tool man Greg Payne, with photo credit to Vice-President Brandon Boos.  The bench is located in the gardens near the school’s entrance.  It is shaded by a large Imperial Locust tree that was planted in 1976 by the Salem Area Civic Association – a forerunner of the current organization that existed from 1969-1985 and 1986-1990.
